Thunder In The Rockies & Black Hills

     

                                       Een motor bijeenkomst bijwonen in de USA , dat hadden we dit jaar geplant en dan vervolgens verder de

                                       prachtige natuurparken in richting Noorden. De Harley werd gehuurd bij " Thunder mountain" te Loveland.

                                       Zo hebben we onze reis aangevangen in Loveland (Denver) alwaar de bike rally " Thunder In The Rockies" 

                                      plaatsvond, het was een bangelijke ervaring. Daarop volgend zijn we meer noordelijk gereden,

                                      meer bepaalt Rapid City, van daaruit hebben we heel de omgeving verkend. The Black Hills, Sturgis, Crazy Horse,

Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, Custerpark en Wounded Knee.

Op onze terugweg een 30 mijl voor Denver hebben we even halt gehouden bij  5 nieuwe monumenten te Broomfield ter nagedachtenis van de tragedie

van 9/11 ( WTC-2001 ). Het ontvangst was hartelijk, we hebben dan samen met de plaatselijke bevolking de slachtoffers herdacht, en ons medeleven betuigt

aan de familieleden van de overledenen.

A Bike meeting in the USA, That's what we planned this year, after that we would be going to the wonderful NP's in the direction of north. The Harley was rented at "Thunder mountain" in Loveland. That's where we started our holidays: in Loveland ( Denver), where was the famous bike rally "Thunder in the Rockies". It was a really amazing experience. After that we headed north, more exactly Rapid City. From there we explored the whole enviroment. The Black Hills, Sturgis, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, Custerpark and Wounded Knee.

On our way back, about 30 miles before Denver we stopped at the five new monuments in Broomfield. These are in memory of the big tragedy of 9-11 (WTC - 2001). The local people were very nice to us. So we stood stil and remembered the victims of the tragedy together with the locals. And of course we expressed our sympathy to the family & friends of the deceased.
